Caddo Sheriff's Office to participate in Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign this July 4

The Caddo Sheriff’s Office is warning motorists that drunk driving won’t be tolerated this Independence Day. “If you’re over the limit and you drive, you’re under arrest,” said Sheriff Steve Prator.

A grant provided by the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission will provide additional funding for deputies to conduct extra patrols in Caddo Parish for the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” awareness campaign. The added patrols will take place from June 30 through July 5.

According to the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety), July 4th  is the day when the most crash deaths are recorded nationally. School’s are out, offices are closed, and more people than usual take to the roads.

Sheriff  Prator is urging citizens to be safe and have fun this Independence Day. “Don’t put yourself or others at risk. Plan ahead. Designate a sober driver in advance. Call a friend, call a cab, or stay put.” he said.
