K-9 finds more drugs at bus station

For the second straight week, a Caddo Sheriff's K-9 has located a large amount of marijuana on a bus traveling from Dallas to Jackson, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Sheriff's K-9 Diesel and his handler Cpl. Jamie McLamb were conducting routine enforcement activities at the Greyhound bus station on Fannin Street this morning when Diesel alerted on a bag in the luggage compartment of a bus. Deputies obtained a name off the luggage, then located the owner who was traveling under another name. Inside the bag was 22.9 pounds of marijuana.

Walter Bell, 39, of West, Mississippi, was booked into Caddo Correctional Center for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Today's enforcement efforts were paid for with a grant awarded through the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement.
