Caddo Sheriff's Detectives arrested 46-year-old David Alan McAvoy today in connection with Tuesday's night fatal shooting of Randy Howell.Detectives received word that McAvoy might be headed to LSU Health Sciences Center this morning. He showed up there around 10:15 a.m., and Caddo detectives arrived a short time later to make the arrest.McAvoy was taken into custody by Detectives Jason Morgan and Andy Scoggins. He was taken to the sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division and was expected to be booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on a charge of second-degree murder. McAvoy's bond has been set at $400,000.McAvoy is accused of shooting Howell in the torso outside Howell's trailer at Drift-In Landing on Caddo Lake. Detectives said McAvoy and Howell had been involved in a disagreement because McAvoy thought Howell had been stealing from him.
