A former Sheriff from Nez Perce County, Idaho, was arrested in Caddo Parish Monday, March 2 on an outstanding criminal warrant issued by Idaho authorities.

Caddo sheriff's detectives located Jimmy Ray Dorion at a home in the 7000 block of Bostwick Road in Blanchard following a tip to the Idaho State Police. Dorion was taken into custody by the Caddo Sheriff's Office and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center as a fugitive from Idaho.

It is not known how long Dorion had been staying at the Bostwick Road residence. He was accompanied by his wife.

Caddo authorities had few details regarding the charges facing Dorion in Idaho.

The former sheriff is expected to appear in Caddo District Court Tuesday morning.
