Caddo deputies investigate a fatal crash which involved one vehicle that occurred in south Caddo Parish earlier this afternoon, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Just before 1:30PM, a motorist traveled westbound on Interstate 220 near the Lakeshore exit, when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.

After further investigation, Deputy Matthew Frizzell reported the driver of a red Toyota Camry was Dejanara Baker, 38, and passenger Calvin Baker, Jr., 42, of Shreveport.

Deputy Frizzell reported both were transported by Shreveport Fire Department to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport, where Calvin Baker, Jr. later succumbed to his injuries and Dejanara Baker was treated for minor injuries. 

The crash is still being investigated by the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office.
