Caddo Sheriff’s Office obtains warrant for burglar

The Caddo Sheriff’s Office has an arrest warrant for a man who’s wanted for committing 30 burglaries in a three-state area, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Sheriff’s Detective Donnie Laney obtained the warrant today for 21-year-old Jeremy Collins of Atlanta, Texas, on three counts of simple burglary and one count of criminal trespassing in Caddo Parish.

Collins was arrested by Atlanta Police on April 6 and is currently in jail in Cass County after admitting to more than 20 burglaries in that area. Miller County, Arkansas detectives also questioned Collins about five burglaries in their county.

In Caddo Parish, Collins is accused of committing burglaries in the 17000 block of Atlanta Mira Road in Ida, the 8300 block of Mira Myrtis Road in Rodessa, the 8800 block of Tyson Road in Rodessa, and trespassing at a home in the 10,000 block of Myrtis Texas Line Road in Vivian.

In one case, Collins is accused of kicking in a back door and stealing property valued at $10,000, including firearms, computers, and power tools. In another case, he entered a home and stole only a cup of change.

It is not known when Collins will be returned to Caddo Parish to face the charges outlined in the warrant.
