Caddo deputies are investigating a fatality crash that occurred this evening on Linwood Avenue.

The crash occurred just after 5:30 p.m. on Linwood near Tyre Road and involved one vehicle that was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed. The driver flipped the vehicle, and he was ejected.

Sheriff's Lt. James Houston said the driver had been at a convenience store on Linwood Avenue shortly before the crash. A deputy was called there for a disturbance involving a man with a firearm. When the deputy arrived, the man jumped into his truck and fled. 

Deputies Alvin Slay and Britton Leblanc arrived at the scene of the crash and attempted CPR on the man, who was partially pinned beneath his vehicle. The local Fire District also arrived and rendered aid; however, the man was deceased at the scene. 

Release of the man's name is pending family notification by the Caddo Coroner's Office.
