A Caddo Sheriff’s detective charged a woman with theft for stealing more than $70,000 while employed as an office worker at a surgery center.

Shelia Millican, 49, of Jonesville, Texas, turned herself in on a warrant obtained by Sheriff’s Detective Bobby Herring of the Financial Crimes Task Force.Millican is accused of embezzling $72,656 from her former employer.

Millican issued fraudulent checks from the company to herself and also stole money through salary overpayments, cash payments received from patients, payroll advances, and false payments to contractors. 

Millican was booked into Caddo Correctional Center on Tuesday and was later released on $5,184 bond.
