Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator announced today that applications are being accepted for this summer’s Sheriff's Camp.

The overnight camp will be held June 7-10 at the Garland Scout Ranch near Stonewall. Boys between the ages of 10 and 13 are eligible to attend the camp, which is conducted by the Caddo Sheriff's Office and Boy Scouts of America, Norwela Council. 

The purpose of the camp is to recognize boys from the at-risk community for their good behavior and academic achievements during the school year. Transportation is provided, and funding is made possible through citizen donations.

Participants learn the basics of scouting, participate in leadership development, and outdoor activities like swimming, archery, rifle shooting and crafts.
