Sheriff’s Safety Town to hold summer mini-camps

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator announced summer activities planned for Sheriff’s Safety Town from June 1 to August 7.

Sheriff’s deputies and Shreveport firefighters will teach the basics of personal safety, fire safety, internet safety, animal safety, gun safety and stranger danger.

Instruction for incoming third and fourth graders will be on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Times are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Children must bring their own lunch and dress for outside weather, including wearing closed-toe shoes.

On Wednesdays, shortened sessions will be held for students entering kindergarten through second grade. Younger participants may choose to attend from either 9-11 a.m. or 1-3 p.m.

There is no charge for the camp but pre-registration is required. Call 698-7233 for more information.
