Seven church trailers broken into at Rodessa campgrounds

Caddo Sheriff’s detectives are investigating break-ins at seven trailers located at the Praise Temple Baptist Church Campground in Rodessa.

The trailers, which were once owned by FEMA but now belong to the church, were broken into some time last week. They had been stripped of refrigerators, stoves, whirlpool bathtubs, water heaters, and microwaves. Caddo investigators were alerted to the burglaries when some of the stolen property was resold on the streets.

Detectives Donnie Laney and Keith Fox have arrested three people so far and charged them with the illegal possession of stolen things. Terri Gibson, 24, of Vivian, is accused of selling a stolen Whirlpool refrigerator to her father, Terry Gibson, 49, and his roommate Hank Cook, 52, also of Vivian. All three said they knew the refrigerator was stolen.

Detectives say the value of items stolen from the trailers is over $15,000. Anyone who purchased items they believe may have been stolen from the trailers is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office to avoid criminal charges. Also, if you have information about the break-ins, contact Detective Laney at 681-0700 or the Caddo Sheriff’s Office at 675-2170.
