A former convenience store clerk was arrested for theft for allowing customers to take items from the store without paying.

David Rough, 25, of the 10000 block of Lomita Drive in Shreveport, was arrested by Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Bobby Herring and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Rough received some cash from individuals for allowing them to take merchandise without paying the full amount, mostly cases of beer. He also took cash from the register and stole merchandise himself. The loss due to theft was over $10,000.
