A Keithville man was charged today with aggravated arson after setting fire to his mobile home in September, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Matthew Aaron Broughton, 20, was booked into the Caddo Correctional where his bond was set at $250,000.

In September, Broughton placed several work shirts on a back burner of the stove in his trailer and turned it on. He waited until the shirts began smoking, and then left the trailer. He returned to the trailer twice to make sure it was on fire before calling 911. The trailer, which was located in the 12000 block of Hwy. 169, was destroyed in the fire. No one was inside at the time.
