Caddo sheriff's detectives arrested a Shreveport teacher/coach for having improper sexual conduct with a student.

Sheriff Steve Prator said 26-year-old Joshua D. Alexander was issued a misdemeanor summons for prohibited sexual conduct between an educator and student. Alexander was arrested at the Sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division today by Detective Jared Marshall and Lt. Sam Hall. 

Alexander is accused of having sex with a 17-year-old Evangel student on one occasion during the 2007-2008 school year. Alexander was a substitute teacher and football coach for Evangel at the time. The offense occurred during a gathering of players and students at Alexander's home, which was then located in the 9200 block of Ellerbe Road. 

Alexander said he is no longer a coach at Evangel and resigned a new coaching position at Loyola College Prep this week.
