A Shreveport man is in the parish jail today charged with three counts of burglarizing a religious building.

Kevin Patrick Murphy, 27, was arrested today at his residence for breaking into the Shreveport Community Church on August 2, 4, and 6.

Murphy was employed by the church at one time but committed the burglary through a side door after hours. Authorities believe he took cash from the café located within church. The last break-in occurred after Murphy was no longer employed by the church.

Murphy was arrested by Caddo Sheriff’s Detective Terry Richardson. One additional suspect who was with Murphy during the break-ins is still being sought.
