A DeSoto Parish man was arrested for stealing over $3,000 worth of services from a local business, according to Caddo Sheriff’s investigators.

An investigation by Sheriff’s Detective Justin Sundquist led to an arrest warrant being issued for 20-year-old Kaleb Clay for felony theft.

On October 14, Clay took his truck to a transmission shop in Caddo Parish to have it rebuilt. On October 18, Clay went back to the shop to get his truck. First, he wanted to test drive it to ensure it ran properly, to which the shop owner agreed. When they returned Clay said he would be in soon to pay for the service. He needed to get money from another vehicle he arrived in. The shop owner went inside and waited; however, Clay had a plan to leave without paying.  Clay walked back to his truck and the shop owner went out to speak with him. Clay jumped in the truck and sped off without paying.

On Sunday, December 18, Clay was arrested for the warrant after a traffic stop in DeSoto Parish. He was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center the following day.
