Second fatal accident this week: Caddo deputies respond to double fatality

Two people died in a single-vehicle accident this morning on LA Hwy. One in north Caddo Parish.

Deputies were called to the scene between Oil City and Vivian around 5 a.m. today. A 2006 Pontiac SUV heading southbound veered off the road, traveled through a ditch, struck a culvert, and rolled several times.

The driver, Deborah Barrack, 51, of Waldo, Arkansas, was taken by ambulance to LSU Health Sciences Center where she is listed in critical condition.

Two passengers, Theodis Morris, 51, of Cullen, and Bobbie Jean Lambert, 51, of Waldo, died in the accident. Morris was taken to North Caddo Memorial Hospital in Vivian where he died. Lambert was ejected from the SUV during the accident and died at the scene.

On Wednesday at approximately 8:30 p.m., deputies responded to a fatal crash on LA Hwy. 173 (Dixie- Blanchard Road) just east of LA Hwy. One.

A westbound 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Paul Crawford, 25, lost control in a curve and slammed into an eastbound 2006 Ford Escape driven by Kyle Bryant, 26, of Belcher. The impact forced both vehicles off the roadway.

Crawford, who was unrestrained, was partially ejected and airlifted to LSUHSC, where he was pronounced dead. Bryant and his two passengers were transported to LSUHSC by Caddo Fire District 1, for treatment of injuries.

Both accidents remain under investigation by the Caddo Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit.
