A Caddo sheriff's deputy was cited today for causing a non-injury traffic accident while on duty in his patrol car, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Sgt. Andy Scoggins was traveling on LA Hwy. 1 at approximately 10 a.m. this morning when he turned at LA Hwy. 538 on a flashing yellow arrow in front of an oncoming SUV. The SUV struck the rear passenger side of Scoggins' patrol car causing him to spin and hit another vehicle stopped at the traffic light. Scoggins was issued a citation for failure to yield while turning left. 

No injuries were reported at the scene.
