Caddo Sheriff's Scholarship Winner

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator awarded an educational scholarship to Adriauna Wade this morning during a presentation at Government Plaza.

Wade is a graduate of Caddo Magnet High School where she earned a 3.75 grade point average. She will use the $500 scholarship to study psychology at Centenary College.

At Caddo Magnet, Wade was active in the Drama Club, Archery Club, and Skills USA. She is also a National Honor Society member.

Sheriffs’ scholarships are made possible by the Louisiana Sheriffs’ Honorary Membership Program (LSHMP). Louisiana sheriffs provide scholarships to graduating high school students from each parish where the sheriff is an affiliate of the program.

Wade was chosen to receive Caddo’s scholarship by judges from Bossier Parish Community College and deputies with the sheriff’s office.

Qualities such as academic achievement, leadership and character are considered in making selections of Sheriffs’ scholarship recipients. The only limitations are that applicants be permanent residents of Louisiana and that they enroll as full-time, undergraduate students in state.
