A Shreveport man was arrested for stealing AT&T telephone cable from at least two locations, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

In April, telephone cable was reported stolen from an area on Lakeshore Drive near St. Matthias Drive, causing a loss of over $3,000. Sheriff’s Detective Zack Jordan identified Barry Thomas, 55, as a suspect and obtained a felony theft warrant for his arrest.

On June 1, Thomas was arrested for the warrant in the 200 block of North McNeil Street. Further investigation revealed Thomas stole phone line from the Lakeshore location on two occasions and from another location around Bert Kouns and West Antoine Loop.

Thomas, of the 300 block of North Brook Drive, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for the arrest warrant and an additional count of felony theft. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are pending.
