Caddo Parish Sheriff’s deputies arrested three Shreveport men and a juvenile for possession of illegal narcotics or possession of illegal firearms, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

On June 7, deputies with the Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit and ATF Task Force conducted search warrants, stemming from an investigation of illegal drug activity and possession of illegal firearms. The search warrants were conducted in the 6500 block of Kennedy Drive and the 6900 block of Gold Leaf Circle. Deputies seized 3 handguns, an AR style pistol, an AK style pistol, the upper part to an AR style gun, high-capacity magazines, approximately 89 grams of marijuana, 2 digital scales, and approximately $9,000 in cash. One of the handguns and the AR style pistol were illegally equipped with a device converting them to fire as fully automatic weapons. Further investigation led to four people being arrested at the scene.

Leon Chambers, 23, of the 3400 block of Gorton Road, was arrested by summons for possession of marijuana and released from the scene.

A 17-year-old juvenile was arrested and booked into the Caddo Parish Juvenile Detention Center for the unlawful handling of machine guns and being a juvenile in possession of a handgun.

Dakari Harris, 24, of the 9400 block of Amity Way, was arrested and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for the unlawful handling of machine guns.

Kesean M. Johnson, 24, of the 6900 block of Gold Leaf Circle, was arrested and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for possession of marijuana, possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and the unlawful handling of machine guns.

Sheriff’s deputies learned Johnson was out on bond since May of 2017 for an attempted second-degree murder arrest in April of 2017, and is still going through court proceedings in Caddo Parish District Court. Since then, he was arrested in December of 2018 for manufacturing and distribution of schedule I and resisting an officer, and in May of 2021 for possession of schedule I and illegally carrying weapons. He bonded out of jail after each of those arrests as well.

This investigation is ongoing with the possibility of more arrests.
