Two separate arrests take fentanyl off the streets

Caddo Sheriff’s Office detectives and members of a multi-agency drug task force arrested a couple for possession with the intent to distribute narcotics, including fentanyl, in Caddo Parish, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Luther Williams, 32, and Germany Simpson, 33, of the 8600 block of Millicent Way, were arrested on July 20 following a traffic stop conducted by CPSO deputies who seized two pounds of marijuana from their vehicle.  Agents then obtained a search warrant for their residence, where they seized an additional six pounds of marijuana, more than four pounds of methamphetamine, and nearly two pounds of fentanyl. Agents also seized $81,736 in cash and a handgun from the residence.

Williams and Simpson were arrested and charged with one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule I (Marijuana), one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II (Methamphetamine), Possession with Intent to Distribute Fentanyl, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of Domestic Violence, and Possession of a Firearm with a Controlled and Dangerous Substance. Both were booked into the Caddo Correctional Center. Williams is currently jailed with a $835,000 bond. Simpson was released on bond.  

The multi-agency drug task force is comprised of the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office, Shreveport Police Department, Bossier Police Department, Webster Parish Sheriff's Office, and Louisiana State Police.

In a separate, unrelated incident, members of the drug task force arrested two men for possession with the intent to distribute narcotics, including fentanyl, in Caddo Parish, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Felanda Ashton, 50, and Christopher Woodward, 45, were arrested on July 28 following a traffic stop by a Caddo Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit. Agents seized six ounces of methamphetamine, one ounce of cocaine, 15 units of suspected fentanyl, and seized $4,000 in cash.

Both men were arrested and charged with one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule II (Methamphetamine), one count of Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine, and one count of Possession of Fentanyl. Ashton is booked into the Caddo Correctional Center with a $36,000 bond.  Woodward was released on bond.
