Caddo Sheriff’s Office detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that left one brother dead and sent the other one to the hospital, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Just after 9 p.m. last night, patrol deputies were dispatched to a shooting in the 700 block of North Hickory Street in Vivian. That’s where they found one of the brothers, a 21-year-old man, deceased from a gunshot wound outside the home.  The other brother, a 22-year-old victim, was inside the residence, suffering from a gunshot wound to his chest. The shooting was reported by a family member living in the house.

Caddo detectives believe both men were shot outside of the residence. The surviving victim was taken to North Caddo Medical Center but was later airlifted to Ochsner LSU Health for treatment, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
