Update: CPSO investigates school bomb threat

Caddo Sheriff’s Detectives arrested a 14-year-old juvenile in connection with a bomb threat at Donnie Bickham Middle School earlier today, said Sheriff Steve Prator. 

 

After further investigation, Caddo Sheriff’s Juvenile Detective Chris Ardoin with the assistance of the Caddo Sheriff’s Cyber Crimes Unit identified a male student as the suspect. The student told Det. Ardoin he made the threat because no longer wanted to attend the school. 

 

The juvenile was arrested for Terrorizing and booked into the Caddo Juvenile Detention Center.

Caddo Sheriff’s deputies investigated a bomb threat at an area middle school, said Sheriff Steve Prator. 

 

CPSO Juvenile Detective Sergeant Mike King said at approximately 7:25 a.m. this morning, a faculty member at Donnie Bickham Middle School answered a call for a threat of a bomb on campus. 

 

The school was placed on lockdown while Sheriff’s patrol deputies and Caddo School Board Security searched the school. 

 

During the search, a backpack was located in the woods near the school. It was searched and cleared with the assistance of the Shreveport Bomb Squad.

 

There were no threats found on the campus.
