Caddo Sheriff's Deputy Cpl. Robert Chapman was recognized by the Shreveport Fire Chief, Clarence Reese Jr., during a ceremony on Thursday, November 30.

Chapman received a Certificate of Commendation for his selfless and courageous acts during a shooting incident at 3455 Knight Street on November 12, 2023. While off duty, Cpl. Chapman assisted the Shreveport Fire Department by applying EMS techniques to a gunshot victim on the scene. Cpl. Chapman was at the right place at the right time and took swift actions that prevented a death from occurring during the incident.

Chapman has served as a Caddo Sheriff deputy for over sixteen years and currently holds the rank of corporal in the Narcotics department. Throughout his career, he has worked on a wide range of cases and undergone extensive law enforcement training. His strong dedication to his work and commitment to the oath he took as a law enforcement officer led him to perform the heroic act he made that day.
