Shreveport man and juvenile arrested for shooting

Caddo Sheriff’s detectives have arrested two people for firing a weapon at an occupied residence in north Caddo Parish, said Sheriff Jay Long.

On February 26, sheriff's patrol deputies were called to a mobile home park in the 5800 block of Old Mooringsport Road where a residence was struck multiple times by gunfire. Two adults and four juveniles were inside the residence during the shooting but no one was injured.

Detective Matthew  Lucky said a group of suspects approached the trailer on foot and attempted to lure the juvenile occupants outside where they planned to engage in a fight over a previous incident. When the occupants did not come out, one of the suspects, 19-year-old Logan Burgess, fired more than 10 shots at the residence.

Lucky and Detective Zachary Jordan identified Burgess and a 17-year-old juvenile as being involved in the shooting. The detectives also obtained a search warrant leading to the recovery of three firearms from Burgess' residence in the 8200 block of Southdowns Drive.

Burgess was booked into Caddo Correctional Center on six counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and one count each of aggravated property damage and criminal conspiracy to aggravated assault with a firearm. The juvenile was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center on a charge of criminal conspiracy to aggravated assault with a firearm.

This investigation is ongoing.
