Shreveport contractor Randy Mason was arrested this morning for theft and contractor misapplication.
Mason, 56, of the 2900 block of North Point Drive, turned himself in at the Caddo Correctional Center on two warrants obtained by Caddo Sheriff's Detective Alan Davidson.
Mason was booked for contractor misapplication in connection with an in-ground pool construction job. He received $28,146 to construct the pool, but at the end of job, subcontractors weren't paid and the homeowner was left with liens of more than $12,000 on her property.
Mason was also booked for theft for using funds belonging to Youree Drive Partnership LLC for purposes unrelated to the job that the partnership hired him to complete. He was hired to build a boat and trailer storage facility on Youree Drive. In the latter part of 2009, Mason withdrew $419,884 in project funds that are now unaccounted for.
