More charges filed against man man who shot, killed cows

A Mooringsport man is facing more charges today for the random shooting deaths of several cows in north Caddo Parish.

Jonathan Caleb Tipton, 24, turned himself in at the Sheriff's Criminal Investigations Division this morning on additional warrants for his arrest.

Tipton was booked into Caddo Correctional Center on two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals for the October 1, 2009, shooting deaths of two cows on Haygood Road.

He was also booked on one count of aggravated cruelty to animals and one count of simple property damage for the October 2 shooting death of a cow on Sentell Road and damage to farm equipment at the same location.

Tipton was originally arrested and booked into CCC on February 2. At that time, he was arrested on a warrant charging him with aggravated cruelty to animals for the August 4 shooting death of another cow on Sentell Road.

Bond on his three arrest warrants was set at $35,000 each. The investigation was conducted by Caddo Sheriff's Detective Donnie Laney.
