A Shreveport woman has been arrested for stealing a teacher's purse from a classroom at Riverside Elementary, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Andrea Johnson, 30, of Shreveport, was in custody at the Shreveport City Jail when she was contacted by Caddo Sheriff's Detective Alan Davidson and arrested for simple burglary and forgery.

Johnson is accused of stealing the purse on February 22 and using the teacher's credit card at a casino ATM. She obtained two checks from the ATM and forged the teacher's name on the checks.

Johnson is also under investigation by other agencies for similar crimes.
