The former caretaker for a disabled Shreveport man was arrested on Tuesday for stealing $175,000 from his bank account, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Krystal Mack, 27, of the 7500 block of Harris Street in Shreveport, was arrested by Sheriff's Detective Alan Davidson. She was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for theft.

Davidson said Mack worked for the man from 2008 to 2009 but was no longer his employee when a new debit card tied to his checking account was activated by Mack on June 22.

Over 700 transactions were made with the card. Several hundred of the transactions were cash withdrawals from area ATMs, money which Mack said she spent at a local casino. Mack is also accused of purchasing tires and rims for her car and furniture, gift cards, and appliances that she resold on the streets.
