Fourth arrest made in armed robbery

A fourth suspect turned himself in this morning in connection with the January 19 beating and robbery of a man who was attacked for his casino winnings.

Christopher Moseley, 27, of the 800 block of Countryside Drive in Shreveport, turned himself in at Caddo Correctional Center around 9 a.m. after his photograph appeared on Crime Stoppers overnight. He was booked into jail on a warrant charging him with armed robbery.

Justin Casey Brown, 29, of Keatchie, Vickie Lynn Smith, 37, of Keithville, and Tracie Lynn Woodson, 28, of Shreveport, also face related charges. Brown and Smith were arrested earlier for armed robbery, and Woodson was arrested for accessory after the fact to armed robbery and obstruction of justice.

Smith is accused of coaxing Billy Varnell into giving her a ride home from the Flashback Casino, but instead of directing him to her house she directed him down a secluded road off Highway 169 where her accomplices were waiting. Brown and Moseley are accused of dragging Varnell from his vehicle and beating him with a lawn mower blade until he was unconscious. When Varnell came to, his wallet and the suspects were gone.

Woodson is accused of having prior knowledge that Brown, Moseley, and Smithplanned to lure Varnell from the casino and rob him of his winnings. Detectives say Woodson assisted in destroying evidence after the armed robbery.
