DNA has landed an Oil City man behind bars in connection with a 2007 sexual assault cold case.

Arthur Ray Jackson, 52, was arrested today by the Caddo Sheriff's Office after the North Louisiana Crime Lab recently matched him to DNA taken from a victim during a sexual assault exam in 2007. The victim was 16 years old and mentally impaired.

Jackson was arrested at the sheriff's substation in Oil City following questioning by Sgt. Mickey McDaniel. He was then booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for aggravated rape. No bond has been set.

McDaniel said Jackson admitted to having sexual contact with the girl in December of 2007. McDaniel said the girl's age and mental capacity also were factors in determining the charge against Jackson.
The case was also investigated by Sgt. David Robinson.
