Caddo detectives arrested a 16-year-old juvenile for a string of vehicle break-ins and other burglaries in the north Shreveport/Blanchard area.
Detectives were working a special burglary operation Sunday night when they spotted the teen wearing a mask and gloves and carrying burglary tools while sneaking through a wooded area on Primitive Baptist Church Road. He also was carrying a remote control boat that was stolen during an earlier burglary.
Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator said the suspect was arrested for possession of burglary tools, criminal property damage, three counts of burglary, and seven counts of vehicle burglary.
The teen was charged in connection with a crime spree that had hit the Primitive Baptist Church Road hard over the past month. The target of the burglaries was primarily firearms and car stereo equipment. The total estimated loss to the victims, including the property damage sustained during the burglaries, was approximately $10,000. Detectives were able to recover about $2,000 in stolen property.
