Caddo Sheriff's Deputy Bobby Herring will receive the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution Law Enforcement Commendation Medal during an 8:30 a.m. ceremony Tuesday, June 1, at the Caddo Correctional Center.

Herring is a detective assigned to the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force where he investigates identity theft, forgery, credit/debit card fraud, and other consumer scams. In the past year, he investigated cases that totaled $517,000 in losses and made over 70 felony arrests.

Herring has been employed with the Caddo Sheriff's Office for 12 years. He has also served as a corrections deputy, patrol deputy, and field training officer. 

The Law Enforcement Commendation Medal is presented to persons who serve with distinction and devotion in the field of law enforcement. The medal is intended to recognize exceptional service or accomplishment in law enforcement. Tuesday's presentation will be made by SAR member Mark Williams.
