Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator announced the escape of Gavin Christopher Taylor from LSUMC early this morning.

At approximately 1:15 am, while awaiting treatment, Gavin Tarylor escaped from custody.Deputies had been at LSUMC since 10am Thursday morning; more than 16 hours with Taylor waiting for medical attention when he walked off.

Gavin Taylor is facing charges of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Kidnapping, Simple Robbery, Flight from an Officer, and Parole Violation. He was wearing an orange jumpsuit, handcuffs and belly chains. He was last seen running south on Linwood Avenue.

Anyone with information of the whereabouts of Taylor should contact the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office immediately at 675-2170. He is considered to be dangerous.

Presently, the deputy on watch at the time of Taylor's escape has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending further investigation into this matter.
