Van driver cited for accident involving train

A 32-year-old Texarkana, Texas, man was treated for minor injuries after he drove his van into the side of a stationary KCS train.

Caddo Deputy Kevin Stewart said Damon Richardson was southbound on Hwy. 1 north of Rodessa around 1 a.m. when he ran off the highway, knocked down a SWEPCO pole, and then hit a KCS train that was stopped on the tracks. Richardson's 2010 Toyota van caught on fire.

Stewart located Richardson walking down the highway away from the accident. Richardson was taken to North Caddo Hospital in Vivian for treatment. He was issued citations for reckless operation and driving without a license.
