Investigators seek information about truck driver wanted for rape

A truck driver who was recently indicted in Texas for sexually assaulting a woman at a Lubbock truck stop is being investigated for a similar crime in Caddo Parish.

Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator said CPSO detectives are looking for information from the public to help with their investigation of Donald Hux, 34, a long-distance truck driver from El Dorado, Arkansas.

A 22-year-old Caddo Parish woman accused Hux of threatening her with a handgun and raping her in the cab of his semi at a truck center in the 8500 block of Greenwood Road on May 13. She said she agreed to meet Hux after he contacted her on the internet.

Later that day, Hux was arrested in his hometown of El Dorado after a Lubbock County Grand Jury indicted him for assaulting a woman at a truck stop in Lubbock in March. In that case, the victim was threatened at knifepoint in the cab of the truck.

Hux is being held in El Dorado by the Union County, AR, Sheriff's Office until his transfer to Lubbock can be arranged.

Locally, Caddo Detective Terry Richardson has obtained a warrant for Hux's arrest on a charge of aggravated rape. Hux will be returned here after facing charges in Lubbock. His bond in Caddo Parish has been set at $500,000.

Several jurisdictions along the I-10 and I-20 corridors have been contacted by Caddo detectivesseeking information on other possible victims.

In the meantime, Caddo detectives would like to talk to anyone in the local area who may have had contact with Hux. He is a white male, 5'10, 190 lbs. with dark hair and a dark mustache. He drives a black Peterbuilt truck with a silver tank trailer.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Det. Richardson at 675-2170.
