Deputies make arrest for filing false complaint

A man who claimed he interrupted a burglary in progress and was shot at by one of the suspects made the story up, according to Caddo Sheriff's investigators.

Kasey Knight, 22, of 14552 Parkway Drive in Hosston, said he arrived home Sunday afternoon to find two men in his house. Knight said one of the men raised a gun in his direction, then pulled the trigger, but the gun didn't go off. Knight said the men fled the scene.

Knight reported the incident to deputies, who interviewed him and determined that Knight fabricated the story to cover up that he had stolen $1,900 from his roommate. Deputies found part of the money, Knight's class ring, drug paraphernalia, and suspected narcotics stashed behind a tree across the street from Knight's home.

Caddo Detective Cpl. Jason Morgan and Deputy Jill Jones booked Knight into the Caddo Correctional Center for felony theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of schedule II narcotics, and criminal mischief. Cpl. Jeff Thomas assisted with the investigation.
