CSO arrests man for triple murder

A stolen video game system is the reason a Shreveport man shot and killed three brothers, including one 13 year old, said Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator.   Marcus Donte' Reed, 33, of the 3000 block of Hoyte Drive, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on three counts of first-degree murder following an investigation by Caddo Sheriff's detectives.

The brothers, Jeremiah Adams, 20, Jarquis Adams, 18, and Jean Adams, 13, were shot in their Chevy Malibu after pulling into the driveway at 9598 Keatchie Marshall Road around 10 p.m. The residence is the home of Reed's girlfriend, but witnesses say Reed was often there.

Reed is believed to have opened fire on the Adams' car, angry because he thought they had burglarized his girlfriend's home and stolen a video game system. The home was broken into on Monday but was not reported to authorities. Deputies say no evidence has been uncovered that the Adams brothers were involved in the burglary but it remains under investigation.

An assault-style weapon was recovered outside the residence. Ballistic testing will determine whether it was the weapon used in the shootings.

Initially detectives believed there may have been a fourth shooting victim; however, Prator said that is no longer thought to be true. Detectives were back in the area today conducting a search of the house and outlying area. A search warrant was also executed at Reed's mother house on Hoyte Drive.

The investigation by the Sheriff's Office is continuing.
