Junior League to hold Super Safety Saturday at Sheriff's Safety Town

The Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier will hold a Super Safety Saturday at Sheriff's Safety Town on September 11.

Activities will include a health and safety fair, bike rodeo, visit from the Shots-for-Tots bus, and a Fun Run.

During the health and safety fair, families will be able to learn about water safety, internet safety, healthy food choices, study skills, dental care, and pet care.

A Touch-A-Truck experience will give children an opportunity to see and touch patrol cars, ambulances, fire trucks, motorcycles, and a helicopter. Throughout the day, Caddo sheriff's deputies will also be conducting bike rodeos where children will learn about bicycle safety and then demonstrate proper practices while riding their bikes in Safety Town. Children should bring their own bicycle and helmet if they have one.

Event participants will also have the opportunity to donate blood through LifeShare, and the Shots-For-Tots Bus will be onsite to help make sure that children are up to date on their vaccinations.

The Fun Run begins at 8 a.m. at Safety Town, located at 8910 Jewella Avenue. Participants can register at http://www.sportspectrumusa.com. All other activities are from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is $5 per person or $20 for a family of four or more, and $5 for unlimited jumping in a jump house.
