A Bossier City teenager was arrested for forging several checks that she knew were counterfeited from a Donnie Bickham Middle School account, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Mikena Leeann Coleman, 17, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on three counts of forgery for cashing $900 in Caddo School Board checks at local grocery stores.

Coleman also faces other charges for similar forgeries. She is one of about a dozen arrests so far in an ongoing investigation into a counterfeit check operation originating in Texas.

Coleman was arrested by Caddo Sheriff's Detective Frank Edmondson of the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force.
