A 52-year-old man was killed earlier today when he fell while trimming a tree in south Caddo Parish.

The man, who has not been identified pending notification of next of kin, was working for Tim's tree service. He and another worker were cutting an uprooted tree that had fallen in the 9500 block of Powers Road. The man was straddling the tree trunk when the tree suddenly shifted to an upright position causing the man to fall about 25 feet to the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
