Caddo Sheriff's Cpl. Richard Porter will be honored in Baton Rouge on Tuesday for his continuing efforts to remove impaired drivers from our local highways.
The Louisiana Highway Safety Commission (LHSC) selected Porter for recognition for making the most DWI arrests this past year by a deputy serving a population of 50,000 to 99,000 people. Porter, who is a patrol deputy in south Caddo Parish, issued 82 DWI citations.
The LHSC recognizes individual law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and judges each year as part of its DWI Enforcement Program. Individual agencies statewide are also recognized from five population groups.
This year's luncheon will be held at 11 a.m. March 15 at Boudreaux's Restaurant, 2647 Government Street, in Baton Rouge.
The LHSC will issue a complete release of award winners following Tuesday's luncheon.
