Man sets up "rolling fuel station" to sell stolen diesel fuel

A tank driver for a local oil company was arrested for stealing diesel fuel from the company and selling it on the street, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Kevin Woodrow, 34, of the 3000 block of Malvern in Bossier City, was arrested Tuesday following an investigation by Caddo Sheriff's Detective Frank Edmondson of the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force.

Prator said Woodrow picked up over 3,900 gallons of diesel fuel from a local refinery and was supposed to deliver it to an area truck stop. However, he sold 964 gallons of the fuel on the street before delivering the rest of the load to the truck stop.

Woodrow admitted selling the fuel at the corner of Prentiss Avenue and Morningside Drive for $1.50 gallon. He said another person pre-arranged several sales for him, and those buyers were waiting on the fuel when he arrived.

Edmondson said the loss to the oil company for operating the "rolling fuel station" was about $3,502.
Woodrow was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for theft.
