Caddo sheriff's detectives arrested a Shreveport man for making over $12,000 in unauthorized purchases with a company credit card, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Israel Castro, Jr., 30, of the 5200 block of Monkhouse, was arrested on Wednesday for felony theft following an investigation by sheriff's Detective Yomeka Evans of the Caddo-Shreveport Financial Crimes Task Force.

Castro is accused of making unauthorized gas purchases with a Fuelman gas card that he previously reported lost. Between November 2010 and March 2011, Castro purchased over $12,000 in gas for himself and family members using the company card.

Castro is currently being held in the Shreveport City Jail.
