Two Hispanic men in the country illegally were arrested by Caddo deputies Wednesday night following a hit and run crash on Mansfield Road in Keithville.
Julio Uriegas, 27, and Jesus Rogue, 26, were arrested for obstruction of justice for trying to conceal evidence in the crash.
The one-vehicle wreck occurred around 9:40 p.m. when a Pontiac Firebird traveling north on LA Hwy. 171 struck a guard rail under an overpass, and then left the scene. The vehicle left behind its bumper and a Texas license plate.
Patrol deputies located the vehicle at a trailer park in the 400 block of Flournoy Lucas Road in Shreveport, but were unable to determine who was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash. Uriegas and Rogue were found next to the vehicle and had attempted to conceal it under a tarp. They were taken into custody after they were found to be illegal aliens from Mexico. Both were booked into the Caddo Correctional Center, and a U.S. Immigration hold was placed on the two for federal authorities.
