Vehicle, trailer thefts could be related to recent spree

Caddo sheriff's detectives say the recent thefts of two vehicles and a trailer could be related to a series of equipment thefts that have occurred in the area over the past several weeks.

Detectives say a white Chevy Silverado 3/4-ton extended cab truck and an attached black custom trailer were stolen just after midnight July 13 in Shelby County. The truck, minus the trailer, was recovered hours later in the woods in the 7700 block of Buncombe Road in Caddo Parish. Further down the road on the same morning, a dark green 2007 Ford 1-ton King Ranch truck was reported stolen in the 7100 block of Buncombe.

Detectives believe someone may have seen the suspects in the stolen Silverado in the early morning hours of July 13 prompting them to ditch the vehicle and steal the Ford to continue transporting the trailer. It's believed they could have been traveling through the Joaquin, Logansport, or Carthage areas before coming to Caddo Parish.

The white Silverado had body damage to its passenger side. The black custom trailer is 14 feet long with a tandem axle, chrome "M&M" logo on the side, and a welding machine, air compressor, acetylene bottles, and cutting torches on board. The dark green King Ranch truck is single axle with New Mexico license tag JRM 548.

Anyone with information about the suspect(s) or thefts is urged to contact Det. Terry Richardson at the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office at 318-675-2176, Lt. Rudy Trahan at the Shelby County Sheriff's Office at 936-598-5600, or Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373.
