A caretaker for a 72-year-old man was arrested by Caddo detectives this week for using his debit card illegally, said Sheriff Steve Prator.

Vicky Brackens, 50, of the 4800 block of Shed Road in Bossier City, was booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for unauthorized use of an access card following an investigation by Sheriff's Detective Frank Edmondson.

Brackens was an employee at an elderly care facility in Shreveport where she came in contact with the victim and took his debit card.  Brackens used the debit card 47 times in Shreveport, Bossier City and Houston, making purchases totaling $3,268.87.  The charges happened in November 2009.  Brackens was identified from surveillance video at one of the stores.
