Women arrested for growing marijuana

Two south Caddo Parish women were arrested Thursday for growing marijuana at their home on Shattalon Street, said Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator.

Deputies were dispatched to 574 Shattalon about a possible burglary in progress call. Upon their arrival, they found two women who were acting strangely. One of the women had accused the other of stealing from her. The two are roommates.

Deputies suspected illegal narcotics might be involved and questioned the women further. Sharon Procell then led deputies to two marijuana plants that were planted in raw sewage around the side of her house. Angela Frazier also admitted to growing marijuana inside of the house. She led deputies into the residence where three large marijuana plants were found growing under a high intensity light source inside of a closet.

There was also a partially smoked marijuana cigarette found as well as several pipes used to smoke marijuana.

Both Procell, 52, and Frazier, 41, were booked into Caddo Correctional Center on charges of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
