SAR to honor public servants

Members of the Sons of the American Revolution will honor public safety officials from Caddo Parish during an 11:30 a.m. luncheon Tuesday, April 22, at the University Club.

Honorees include Caddo Sheriff?s Detective Terry Richardson, Shreveport Police Detective Eric Miles and Shreveport Fire Captain David A. Peery.

Richardson has served 17 years with the Caddo Sheriff's Office. He currently works as a detective investigating crimes including homicide, robbery, and burglary. He's being recognized for a tenacious work ethic that results in crimes being solved and also a caring attitude when responding to crime victims and families who have suffered tragic losses. Richardson is also a member of the Caddo Sheriff's Critical Incident Response Team, which provides assistance to deputies involved in tragic events, and volunteers at his church and in the community.

Miles has been with the Shreveport Police Department since January of 1997. As a member of the Property Crimes Detective Unit, he investigates a variety of crimes against property, such as burglaries and thefts. In 2007, Miles cleared 102 of the 121 cases he was assigned ? an outstanding 84 percent clearance rate. This is possibly because of his interview and interrogation skills. He oftentimes gains confessions by suspects and sometimes gets so much cooperation from the suspect that the suspect confesses to additional cases.

Information on Peery was not immediately available. Please contact the Fire Department for his bio.
